Writing & The Death of a Jezebel

Wow! Can you believe it’s been a whole year since I released the first three episodes of The House of Jezebel book podcast?!? Well, I’m back – and a lot has happened since then. But before, I started up a new podcast series entitled Jezebel Through the Chakras, a look at the 7 major chakras, I wanted to check in and give you all an update on the writing process and what’s happened in the past year. This recapped episode was sparked by a recent obituary by a sister and brother who wanted to have the last word regarding their 80-year-old mother that abandoned them and started a whole other family elsewhere. Some are calling the obituary scathing, horrible, angry, disrespectful, _____, but I empathize and sympathize with them. In recent months, I too have had to deal with the death of someone who caused me great pain and I too have had to deal with the memories sparked by the death of my 86-year-old Jezebel a good three months ago.

(To be honest, I think their obituary – provided in a tweet below – was quite nice.)

Most people erroneously think that when someone dies that that’s the end of any pain and suffering not only for the “dearly departed” but also for those left behind. Unfortunately, that simply isn’t the case for everyone. Sometimes for the latter group, the death of a “loved one” that was the source of extreme pain, trauma, and/or turmoil, such feelings do not evaporate just because that person has passed on. Oftentimes, it’s just the opposite. Such a death could trigger the cells on one’s body to regurgitate, to remember, to recall, to relive bad memories. Often making the survivor feel as if they are back in the same circumstances all over again even though they are not. So, in this latest podcast, I share my insights from a house of Jezebel perspective regarding not only their viral obituary shared below but I also provide a humorous review of my own Jezebel’s obituary forwarded to me. 😌 I hope you enjoy the show! 😂
